First-Ever CDT Reunion!

In March 2024, the Cavs organization hosted the very first Cavs Dance Team reunion, bringing together nearly 150 alum for a collaborative halftime performance that was pure magic. I never thought I’d get the chance to dance on that court again, and I was completely at a loss for words after the event. There were so many emotions, memories, and of course, an abundance of photos!

Each five-year era was celebrated, and I had the honor of choreographing the routine for the 1995-1999 era. It felt so special to return in this way, especially considering I coached and choreographed during my final season with the Cavs organization. I’m proud to say that my 1998-1999 team was one of the largest groups to participate in the reunion.

Standing on the practice floor with Kelsey Wilkins and seeing the women from my era walk in for our first rehearsal felt like pure magic. The energy, the hugs, and the excitement as we reunited—many of us hadn’t seen each other in 25 years—was beyond words. It felt like no time had passed at all. The event was organized so beautifully, with a space to hang out, snack, and prep for the big day.

The joy of dancing alongside my former teammates was indescribable, and one of the highlights was sharing the floor with my former student and current CDT dancer, Hanna Kristoff. I was also in awe of two of my former students, Kelsey Wilkins (CDT Coach) and Katie Zaremba (CDT Alum, Former Coach, and Director of Entertainment)—who turned this idea into reality. Their vision, dedication, and attention to every detail made the event a resounding success that will now become a tradition every five years. They were also a big part of the choreography collaboration for the halftime, and I couldn’t be prouder of them.

To top it all off, family and friends came out to support, including my boys and husband who were there cheering me on just like in the ‘90s. Truly an experience I’ll never forget.
